Where to Use Color

This is a question that I am asked constantly. "I don't know where to use color?"

Everywhere I reply!

Have you looked out your window lately, what do you see? An everchanging mixture of colors. If it works outdoors in nature, why can't it work indoors?

It can.

So, pick the color you have your heart set on and use it. Use the color wheel if you are unsure of which colors to use with it. Where do you put it?

Change the mood of the room yet? Great, you can now start to add a few more colors to highlight your feature color. Perhaps paint the walls, add a rug, change the drapes. If you attack adding color into your home slowly it won't frighten you and you can take the time to make the changes and mentally adjust to them quietly. You will then be very comfortable with having color around you.
