Dezine Definition - Gate Leg Table and Girandiole
Gate Leg Table: This is a type of extending table. The ends of the table are hinged to hang down in the unextended form and when lifted up are supported by a gate or leg which swings out from the vertical face of the end of the table.
Girandiole: Refers to an ornate candelabrum or carved or gilded sconce with mirrors usually in Rococo or Neoclassical style.
Dezine Tip - Using Color to Change your Decor with the SeasonsIf you spend a lot of time at home like me, you will quickly tire of looking at the same old interior! A new paint job just isn't on the cards so why not simply change around your furniture, add some new artwork (or make some of your own!) Splash out on a few new cushions to suit the season, crisp and fresh colors for spring, cool and calm colors for summer, soft muted colors for autumn and vibrant bold colors for winter. Then add the odd throw to help balance the new colors and a fresh vase of coordinating flowers always tops it off. If you can't afford fresh ones, then use artificial, there are so many beautiful alternatives now that they often look better than the real thing! I add a few drops of essential oils to the vase and then I still get a fresh aroma! Try adding affordable color like new vases, tableware, candles, let your imagination go. The best way to find out would be to look in the yellow pages for your local design institute or education facility and use them as a starting point. If you can't find any in your area, then I would go to a well established design business and contact them directly. They should be able to provide you with some advice. If you are at school then your careers advisor would be a great place to start. There are numerous correspondence schools on the internet, but I would advise that you find out about your local requirements and minimum qualifications that you need. It is like every career, there are good education providers and bad ones, the best way to find out is word of mouth and do a little research of your own to compare them as they do vary greatly in price and the level of course work.
