A few tips on flower arrangements
- For a formal arrangement - don't have too many colors, select 3 max and work with those otherwise your arrangement wil look too busy.
- Monochromatic arrangements look great - select flowers of the same color, and use greenery ie leaves etc to create the contrast.
- If you want a country garden/wild flower look, the more flowers you have the better, these flowers look best as a large bunch in a vase left to meander on their own.
- Always select a vase that fits the type of arrangement you want. Tall and slender for a single rose and greenery, heavy and squat for large short stemed flowers, large and tall for long stemed flowers such as lilys. Nothing looks worse that a tiny posy of flowers in a large vase, select a small compact vase and they will compliment each other!
- Add a teaspoon of sugar to the water to keep your flowers fresh. Change the water at least every three days and make sure that you don't have leaf matter in the water or the water will spoil.
