WC - Seat
There are many WC seats on the market today and although it may seem a subject that is often overlooked there are a number of points that the interior designer should be aware of when specifying.
Remember that as a designer it is your attention to detail that other professionals may often not be concerned with that will finish the project with the end user's personal comfort in mind.
What the seat is made of?
It may be wooden which is often warmer to the touch, pressed plastic which may be a cheaper version, but has the disadvantage of not being overly supportive.
If ergonomic contour zones are incorporated into the seat it may be of formed plastic which is heavy and robust.
Any material that the seat is made of must be able to be cleaned with chemical cleaners and be non porous so that bacteria are not able to get inside the material and breed or house disease.
Hygiene and comfort are paramount. The seat may have a closed or open front and usually a lid.
