These are usually used in a commercial situation for males and are outside the scope of this article, as it is domestic based.
However if they are to be used in a commercial or domestic situation here are a few items to be taken into consideration.
They can be made of vitreous china, stainless steel and plastics.
They are either push-button (usually always in a domestic situation) or have an automatic sensor that flushes them after a number of uses.
As with toilets, they have a cistern water flush system and this has to be mounted or housed somewhere.
The height at which the fitting is mounted at has to be taken into consideration for children as well as adults who may use the fitting.
They may or may not be fitted with a sanitary lid.
