Bathroom Accessories - Soap Dispensers or Soap Dish
There is not a great deal to this item except that they should be in easy reach for all (especially children).
Typically a soap dish should be in the shape of a dish with an edge to hold the soap in place and with a drain to allow the soap to dry.
If water is left on a bar of soap it will go all soggy and slimey. Not nice when you pick it up to wash your hands! Note where the soap is draining to as this can also allow soapy water to collate and make a mess. Take your time selecting, think of the space that you have on your vanity, how much room you have to put all of your essential items, and will the soap tray or soap dispenser slide off into the basin!
I once had a vanity that I could not put the soap in the built in formed soap tray of the vanity top as it was angled to let the excess water drain, but it also acted like a slide for the soap and it constantly slid down into the basin - very annoying unless you are a child and like to play slides with the soap in the basin!

Built in liquid soap dispensers are another useful item either mounted on the wall or in the vanity unit themselves. These mean there is no sliding soap into the basin and flowing soap is an easier way to wash your hands, especially for children who can struggle with a bar of slippery soap.
Ensure that you have easy access for refilling and that the base of the free standing soap dispenser is solid, so that it too doesn't come to the same fate of toppling into the basin! The base needs to be a generous size as when you pump down on the soap dispenser you want it to be stable and not tip.
Soap dispensers are often used to add color or texture to a scheme, and frequently have matching tooth brush holders and cups or glasses.
Beware of glass or ceramic freestanding dispensers, because they can cause a lot of damage if they fall into the basin and break.
