Color Schemes for Purple

For your homework, learn about the color wheel and how to use it, that will explain how we came to get the color schemes for purple below.

They are a great place to start and if you go and analyse any color scheme, you will find that it has also been derived that way.

Below you will find color schemes derived from the color wheel for the Purple Hue.

Here is an example of how to use it. Firstly I select which type of scheme I want, here we will use a Triadic Color Scheme.

This includes the colors Purple, Green and Orange. I choose an earthy green carpet, a warm terracotta orange plaster finish for the walls, a lilac and peach striped fabric for the drapes and cushions, a purple, orange and green patterened couch fabric, and a orange rug for the floor with forest green pin dots.

This uses orange as my base color (as it is the largest expanse of color in all the walls), with purple and and green sprinkled around the room as accents to balance the space.
