Basic Ideas for Your Romantic Bedroom Part 1

The bedroom, a place for rest, sleep and romance. How do you get the feeling of romance into your bedroom?

It is simple.

You have to learn about yourself and your partner. It is great getting ideas from people like me for your decoration, but you need to create a space that reflects your wants, needs and desires.

For me, I love good quality high tread count cotton sheets and down pillows. A light and soft down duvet with a simple textured cover, (I don't like too many patterns in my bedroom, it makes the room feel too busy for me). My husband likes to have bed side lights which he puts on when he draws the drapes to give the room a subtle glow.

We have a very large picture of our wedding day of the wedding party walking along our favorite beach on the wall above our bed. This reminds us of a happy day and of us being united together. We also ban the children's toys from the master bedroom, so we don't trip over in the soft subtle lighting! This is enough to create a romantic mood in our bedroom, as we spend all day surrounded by design and decoration, it is nice to relax your mind in a simple space.

What do you like?

Snuggly fur rugs, candles, aromatherapy oils burning, lace and frills, four poster bed, classical music playing? There are lots of things that can make a bedroom feel romantic.

Subtle light to the side, warm and inviting colors, luxury fabrics, a good start for a romantic bedroom.

Soft Subtle Lighting

Make sure you have a dimmer switch on your main lights or use bed side table lights to create a soft light. Candles are ok, but a little volatile.
