Mario Bellini graduated as an architect from Milan Polytechnic in 1959.

He runs an architectural and design practice in Milan.

He has worked for Artemide, Erco, Fiat, B&B Italia, Cassina and Olivetti.

He has won many design awards in Italy, Spain, West Germany, and the USA.

His most famous furniture designs are the Cab series of chairs, which began with the 412 Cab Chair in 1977.
